For 10 years now we’ve stared out from the terrace of the Writer’s Retreat towards The Other Side and wondered how to get there.

So today I took it upon myself to find out. Down to the bottom of the village, across the bridge, up the hill, take 2nd lane on the left, walk to the top until it turns into gravel track, go along that track, turn left through the opening in the fence, walk across farmer’s field to the rocks (I think trespassing now), into the woods and onto the rock that overlooks the ravine from The Other Side – and then BINGO! (or should I say LE LOTTO!?) – I could finally, just about see a very small part of our house hidden behind a tree in the foreground.
